5One rod can show any digit from 0 to 9.
Reading rule
- Start with the upper bead: count 5 if it touches the beam.
- Then count lower beads touching the beam: 1 each.
Examples:
- 0 = no beads touching the beam
- 3 = three lower beads touching the beam
- 7 = one upper bead and two lower beads touching the beam
Step by step for reading 7
- Look for the upper bead first. If it touches the beam, start from 5.
- Count the lower beads touching the beam.
- Add them together. Here that is 5 + 2 = 7.
